AiOP 2019: INVISIBLE October 17-20, 2019

In six Art in Odd Places performances over the last 10 years, I was INVISIBLE in my visibility – taking on different personas to illustrate timely issues. |
And now I am visibly honored to be Curator of Art in Odd Places AiOP 2019: INVISIBLE October 17-20, 2019. Since 2005 AiOP has produced an annual festival along 14th Street in Manhattan from Avenue C to the Hudson River each October. http://www.artinoddplaces.org/

AiOP 2019: INVISIBLE celebrates the indomitable spirit of artists who are sixty years of age or older—undaunted by the passage of time—supported by their intergenerational collaborators: parent/child; mentor/ protégé; partners; lovers. The artists’ proposals were an actual telephone call. Their proposals were not seen, only heard. 43 projects by 84 artists 22 spoken word artists in a mosaic of disciplines highlight the INVISIBLE that people choose not to see: the fragility of aging, even the beauty of aging, the homeless, the plight of immigrants, detained children, gentrification, mass incarcerations, and the lack of compassion in the world.
